Yes, EdcampNJ is the bomb and thank you to all of the organizers for creating such a wonderful experience. Although I traveled 6 hours to get there, I will be back and I will bring more folks with me! Please also check out my friend Peter DeWitt’s post about exploring an Edcamp (we are working on one for Upstate NY!) as well as my friend Tony Sinanis’ post about his first Edcamp experience. EdcampNJ, you guys ROCK!!
EdcampNJ is the Bomb!!
Co-moderating with Scott Rocco, Sharon Plante and Scott Capro on Social Media at EdcampNJ
I have been following the awesome educators from New Jersey and watching for the past three years through Twitter and social media avenues what they are doing to bring educators together and collaborate, connect and share great things we do for our kids.Last weekend, EdcampNJ was held at Linwood Middle school in New Brunswick, NJ. This was my first Edcamp experience and since it wasn’t to far from my family, I got the best of both worlds, learning and visiting with family. If you haven’t experienced an Edcamp, what are you waiting for? This was and is one of the BEST professional development, EVER and it’s all FREE!! Like minded folks meet on a Saturday, share, connect and collaborate, and what a way to meet as well as increase your PLN. Meeting rocks stars like the #satchat crew of Billy Krakower, Scott Rocco and Brad Currie, seeing my friend Tony Sinanis, hanging with Joe Sanfelippo who came all the way from Wisconsin, getting the opportunity to co-moderate a session with Sharon Plante, Scott Rocco and Scott Capro, finally meeting Dana Sirotiak, Jeff Bradbury and Jay Eitner, and just meeting so many of my PLN as well as new folks.
